Central coast family vacation
The house was the most comfortable rental we’ve stayed in. Everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay was included. Everything labeled which made it easier to find. Ample towels, pillows, blankets. House set on a beautiful property. Kids loved all there was to do- pool, darts, swing hot tubs. Owner very responsive. Central to all the places we wanted to visit.

Second stay
This was our second stay at Linda and Gary’s beautiful property. We had a wonderful time. The house is spacious, with plenty of room for our large group. The well appointed kitchen made cooking for everyone a breeze, they had everything we needed. We only left the house for groceries as there was so much to keep us entertained between swimming, lawn games and playing pool. I’m sure we’ll be back!

Loved this home!
Our group of 4 families throughly enjoyed our stay at Lodge West! Gary & Linda have thought of everything and provided us with a charming, well organized, cozy home away from home. Linda was super easy to communicate with and quick with responses. We wanted for nothing as so many amenities were available to us. We enjoyed the home (and the pool and hot tubs) so much, we opted to stay in instead of going out for the Fourth of July! We were already having so much fun where we were! The property sits in a great location a short drive up to Paso Robles and a short drive down to Morro Bay or San Luis Obispo. It’s also conveniently minutes away from grocery stores and the zoo!

Couldn't ask for more!
Linda greeted us upon arrival and highlighted features of the property. In the welcome basket we were treated with wine and candy. So thoughtful! The house had everything we needed for a 5 month old baby to retired adults. Beautiful neighborhood and I felt so safe I left the keys where they were. How can you beat 2 jacuzzi's?

Wonderful Home, Ideal for Family Reunions
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful vacation rental, and it was a delightful experience! We were an extended family of 10 and there was room for everyone. The detached casita was a great advantage. The hosts were thorough and inviting. Linda made sure to explain everything upon check-in and stayed in touch throughout our stay. The house is immaculately clean. The kitchen is fully equipped. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout the home. There were plenty of games and activities to keep everyone entertained, from the youngest kids to the adults. The property itself is an oasis of tranquility and relaxation. From the deck, we were able to watch the deer families, turkey vultures, woodpeckers, and various other wildlife. The pool was the highlight of our stay – crystal clear, well-maintained, and surrounded by plenty of seating. Overall, this vacation rental exceeded our expectations in every way. It's the perfect place for a relaxing getaway with family or friends. Highly recommended!

Vacation land
My 5 children and 6 grandchildren had a grand time and throughly enjoyed their three days at Lodge West. The house was immaculate and maintained with great care. We truly never left the house, but to shop because there were so many activities to do at the house, no one wanted to leave. Linda and Gray were excellent hosts and very available and concerned about our comfort and enjoyment. Definitely a five star vacation experience.

Family summer getaway
Came here with a couple families and 5 kids ages 2-7. There was so much to do between the property outside, pools, hot tubs, beach trips, spa trips, etc. The only thing I would have wanted would be a washer/dryer, otherwise beautiful property and would definitely come back!

Outstanding Property
We rented this property as a group of 5 adult males. We're a band traveling through the central coast! The property was perfectly maintained; beautifully landscaped. The pool and hot tubs were the perfect temperature. Linda, the owner, was responsive and friendly. Whatever we needed, she would show up and address. This is more of a "hacienda" :-). A luxury compound nestled in the country side with a nice view of a ravine, and plenty of space to play and hang out. There are lawn games and (as a parent I can judge) lots of games and amenities for children. I highly recommend this property and will definitely be back.

Relaxing and fun stay!
We had a very nice time at this property. There was lots to do and all activities mentioned in the listing were in good condition and possible to do. Both hot tubs and pool were clean and functioned great. The games had good working equipment (cornhole, darts, bocce ball, pool table). The BBQ and firepit both worked great. Inside, the kitchen had nice working appliances. There were labels on all drawers and cupboards which was very helpful in finding everything you needed. The WiFi worked great. The TV had lots of channels including NFL Redzone which we enjoyed watching. Everything was very clean as well. Linda was a fantastic host. She was easy to get in touch with if we needed anything or had any questions. Definitely recommend this place for friends and/or family of all ages.

Fun in the hot hot sun!
We booked the house Labor Day weekend, which turned out to be unseasonably warm. We mainly stayed at the house, and there was plenty to do to keep 4 adults and 4 kids entertained, especially the pool, which gets nice shade. Linda went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable!

A 6-Star Experience!
The best vacation rental we've ever had! The house and casita were made-to-measure for our family (8 adults, 4 kids ages 9,7, 15 months and 11 months.) Hosts Gary & Linda have done an outstanding job of setting up their property thoughtfully,...from the well-equipped kitchen and bathrooms, to all the recreational activities -- spotless pool, darts, bocce, pool table, kids toys, two hot tubs etc. with clear instructions for everything. Photos don't do the outdoor areas justice -- there are multiple outdoor seating areas, ample shade, beautiful views, plus plenty of parking. Location is great -- convenient to stores, restaurants etc. We couldn't have wished for more or better! Thank you so much.

Great find!
Linda and Gary were excellent hosts and very communicative with me leading up to and during our stay. The property was great and had everything you could ask for for a fun weekend getaway. We were a group of 10 and had plenty of space to hang out during the day and sleep at night. We went wine tasting one day and were not far from the wineries we visited. My group loved this place and all agreed we would stay here again!

Graduation Celebration from Cal Poly
This place is amazing. It was impeccable., everything was labeled nicely so it was easy to find. It was a really hot weekend and the pool was wonderful, the hot tubs were nice at night. We used everything, the pool table, bocci court, bbq. We rented the Casita as well because it was a large group and it was a nice getaway. One of the best places we have ever stayed and would love to come back. The hosts were very friendly and helpful??

Great stay with plenty to do
Lodge West had plenty of activities to do from Bocce ball, corn hole, darts, pool, hot tub, billiards. They actually have two hot tubs. The newer one (not in pictures) is really large and modern.

Amazing property, amazing hosts
We absolutely loved our stay - we were a large group with 9 adults and 4 little kids - and we were blown away by howspacious, functional, and comfortable the house was. Gary & Linda are so friendly and have put a lot of effort into making sure you have everything you could possibly need, without being cluttered. The pool and hot tubs got serviced daily and were sparkling clean, the backyard is a wonderful place to hang out with endless things to do, it's well provisioned for kids/babies, we cooked every meal and had everything we needed, the location is great for visiting wineries....I can't say enough good things. We can't wait to come back and stay there again.

Golf Getaway
This was a wonderful property. Very spacious with lots of activities including 2 hot tubs, pool, pool table, darts cornhole and others. We had a group of friends out on a golf trip and thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. Property was centrally located for golf and wine tasting. We all loved the house and would definitely like to come back to in on a future golf trip.

Enduring memories were made here.
We did a family getaway with two cousins’ families. We had 6 adults and 6 kids (5-11 years). The house, grounds and amenities are simply immaculate. The home has a warm rustic feel and is exceptionally comfortable. We have never experienced a vacation rental like this before, where instructions were very detailed and everything was labeled wonderfully making it easy to find and use. Everything was remarkably clean, especially all the items in the very well stocked kitchen. The arrival tour with Linda was super helpful during our stay, and she and Gary were readily available on site to help if and when needed, without us feeling cramped or “watched”. The pool and hot tubs were just supreme and our kids loved being in them the entire day, making it very easy for the adults to have a relaxed and enjoyable time as well. I was pleasantly surprised that even though the reported temperatures were high for my liking (high 80s) it felt comfortable, especially with a constant breeze in front of the house. There are many activities nearby and within fairly reasonable driving distances, but honestly one can just simply kick back and enjoy this idyllic place!! The only ding during our stay was ambient noise at the casita, and Linda gave us a heads-up about this from the get-go. The pool pump comes on in the morning (I believe) and the overhead fan is squeeky, so not the place for those in your party who are light sleepers. Overall, absolutely a 5-star experience!! We started talking about a return visit well before the end of our trip!! Thanks Linda and Gary for allowing us into your beautiful home, and for memories that will endure through our and our children’s lifetimes!!

Wonderful Experience
We were a group of 8, gathering from 5 different states to for a family wedding at a local winery. The house was as advertised and even more! There was tons of space, the kitchen was great and the parking was ample. The outdoor space was amazing and we spent most time hanging out on the decks. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. There were so many options- pool table darts, bocce, corn hole, swing or hang in hot tubs and pool. Plus a huge cooler to store beverages and a great grill, which we took advantage of. Gary and Linda were very friendly and helpful hosts. Hope to come back someday!

Perfect home for a family gathering
It’s been 1.5 years since our family has been together due to the pandemic. We decided to get together for a family wedding in Atascadero. We had multiple kids in our group and wanted a place that would be spacious, comfortable, and clean. This home definitely delivered on all of that and more. I think the house is even better in person than in the photos on the listing. There was plenty of space for us all to hang out as a family, space for the kids to run around, multiple activities for the family to engage with. Linda and Gary are amazing hosts - they were extremely responsive and communicated with us throughout the trip. Linda even helped me get a trustworthy babysitter for my son the night of the wedding. The only thing I wish we could’ve had differently was access to a washer/dryer in the home. We stayed for 4 nights and had kids so being able to do laundry would’ve been a big benefit. Overall, I highly recommend this rental!

Great place to get away with friends and family
We were a group of 9 - two families and a family friend - trying to get away from work and spend time hanging out together. This place was perfect. The dining room table easily sat the 9 of us (which is unusual - I see a lot of VRBOs which sleep 10 but the DR table seats 6), the kitchen had plenty of counter space and was well-equipped and well-labeled including a mixer, pancake griddle, coffee maker, wine glasses and corkscrew, and plenty of cups and plates. In the living room, the couches were comfortable, and the piano was in-tune. The full-sized dish-washer worked well. Ice from the ice-maker tasted fine. The drinking water at the sink is filtered using reverse-osmosis and also tasted good. There is plenty of outdoor seating on the upper deck for meals as well. Note that the Casita has a kitchen, but it's not for cooking in, so plan to cook in the main house. There is a Trader Joe's about 10 minutes away with plenty of parking. The pool was nice, as was the hot-tub (we only tried out one of the two), and the pool table was als o nice and in good shape. We played Bocce ball on the last day. It was nice to have things to do on-site. It gets quite hot in Atascadero, and PGE loves it's power outages, so if this happens while you're there, plan to go to Morro Bay. It was about 25 minutes away, and because it's on the ocean, the weather was a cool 70 degrees while Atascadero was having a heatwave. There's a boardwalk with a couple of ice cream places and Kayaks that you can rent by the hour. We took them to circle the deck where the sea lions were basking, then went to the other side and explored the fine sand beach. For lunch/dinner you might need a reservation, so phone ahead even at off-times. For beds, we were able to fit a full-sized sofabed mattress on the floor in the front bedroom (we brought it with us), but in general, if you want to sleep a third person in the bedrooms, I'd recommend bringing twin inflatables. The house is in very good shape, with nice decor. Shoes are allowed to be worn inside. At night, the owners asked that we open the windows to cool the house down and conserve energy. This worked fine, and the area is very quiet--very little street noise at all. No roosters. The carport was really nice to have since there was a heatwave going on. We got to see the deer on two different evenings right across from the carport. I would absolutely book this place again.

Relaxation Vacation
This property was amazing; so many activities. The pool and both hot tubs made it easy to relax and enjoy the property. Every morning I would wake up and have a cup of coffee on the deck, just to watch the deer running around on the property. It was absolute bliss. I would recommend this property to everyone looking for some relaxation and good quality family time. Thank you Linda and Gary, you both were amazing host.

Perfect family getaway
I booked Lodge West as a location for a surprise birthday party for my brother and sister. It turned out to be the perfect place for our get-together. And Gary and Linda, the owners, even surprised me with thoughtful gestures such as a big birthday balloon, tablecloth in case I wanted a fancy dinner, and boxes of age-appropriate toys for the kids. What a delight! The home was meticulously clean (well until we started cooking...). It offered great spaces for us to hang out both inside and out - we BBQ'ed and ate on the patio every evening. The kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed in order to prep and serve meals, including baking sheets, measuring cups, an ice cream scoop, a blender, etc. We had great fun swimming in the pool - the owners had thoughtfully marked off the shallow end for the kids. There were tons of floaties, noodles and other pool toys too. There are also 2 bars and 2 hot tubs, a bocce court and bean bag toss/cornhole game. Of course, just sitting and enjoying the pretty canyon view was also a treat. The owners live nearby and were really helpful. They were gracious and communicative without being in any way obtrusive. Super people. All in all, a perfect place for a getaway!

Wonderful stay!
We just spent 3 nights at this amazing vacation rental. We have family in different parts of California and this was the best property and home for all of us to come and enjoy together to build lasting memories. The house setup was perfectly spread out and well stocked, the outside had everything you needed and more! We got to enjoy the calmness of nature in the mornings, pool time during the day and hot tub and star gazing at night. Gary and Linda are wonderful hosts and we hope to come back again one day!

We have been renting vacation homes for many years and the experience with this property and it's owners Linda & Gary has been by far my favorite! Graduation Celebration
Low key celebration with my daughters for their accomplishments and futures. I needed a place that was halfway between Northern and Southern California. West Lodge accommodated our group well. Linda is close by to make sure everybody is comfortable. We had a great time!

Great house for a get away retreat
We had an amazing time. The house was well stocked, extremely clean and comfortable. The pool was perfect and the outdoor patio was perfect. We highly recommend this property and hope to come back sometime in the future.

Fabulous Birthday Getaway
I cannot say enough good things about this beautiful property. The home was immaculate, and had everything we could possibly need. The property has so much to do, pool, hot tub, pool table, darts, ect. It was an amazing place to spend a weekend getaway. Gary and Linda, the owners were so gracious and left us a sweet welcome package, and were very responsive to any questions we had. I would recommend this place 5 times over. :-)

Large, clean home in beautiful location.
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful property. It was so comfortable and spacious - and SO clean! We could have easily had another family with us. We had a great time playing in the pool after visiting a couple of wineries. Our hosts were friendly and very helpful. Thank you for the basket of treats!

Perfect Getaway
We had a great experience in very well maintained house by Gary and Linda. It was a very tranquil setting with deers visible outside.. from the pool to the well stocked kitchen, a big front yard where kids can run freely to the fire place outside everything was perfect. Gary and Linda were great - they stayed in constant touch to make sure our checkin was seamless and covered the pool every night to make sure it stayed as warm as it could.

Something for everyone
This is a roomy house with lots of fun outdoor activities (hot tub, pool, billards, chiminea, corn hole) and everything you need to cook or grill for a big group. Easy driving distance to downtown Atascadero and 15 minutes to Paso Robles or San Luis Obispo.

Perfect Central Coast stay
We stayed at Gary and Linda’s property with our extended family and had a great stay. Their home is impeccably organized and clean, everything is labeled, and it has everything you need to enjoy your visit. Lots of fun features to the property and the rooms are laid out nicely for a couple families to stay and have their own space. Highly recommended!

Spacious getaway
We had a family gathering here and enjoyed it tremendously! There was plenty of space and activities to keep everyone happy. Our hosts were extremely conscientious and diligent in seeing to our comfort. The area is beautiful with plenty of deer to watch.

Exceptional Central Coast wine country getaway
We had a wonderful experience at Lodge West! Linda and Gary were extremely communicative both before and during our stay, and were also flexible when we had issues with needing to reschedule due to poor air quality from the fires. We gathered here wanting a COVID-safe retreat with three adults and two children, and there was something for everybody. The pictures don’t do the property justice - it’s even bigger and nicer in person, and the backyard and pool are a kid-heaven. They also had a crib waiting for us, and outside there are games like corn hole, darts, an outdoor billiards table, a swing, and a BBQ, all on a massive deck. The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen is large and well-stocked with appliances for cooking. Several popular wineries are a short drive away and there’s also an In n Out about 5 minutes away. We can’t wait to return and plan to tell our friends about this gem.

Family vacation
We had 5 couples an 2 small children for a family vacation at Lodge West. Everyone had plenty of space both outside and in. Such a pretty environment. With daily visits from the neighborhood deer. Kitchen was well stocked and easy to accommodate several cooks. Thank you Linda and Gary.

Amazing Oasis in Atascadero
Our group of nine had a fabulous time at Lodge West. The house was pristine and so well sanitized and cleaned during this pandemic. Linda and Gary made sure we had everything we needed and were extremely responsive. The pool and yard look even better than in the photos. We lounged around the pool every day. It was hot but there was plenty of shade from the oak trees so that we could be outside all day, which we were. A few of us are birdwatchers, and the bird life in the oaks was extraordinary. The local deer were fun to watch as well. We hiked on a nearby trail, went to a local winery, enjoyed using the Lodge West grill and hot tub, and just had an amazing time. If you need to get away and relax, we couldn't recommend this more highly. It's superb for large groups -- the house and outdoor areas offer plenty of space for socializing yet still social distancing, if your group requires that.

Awesome place, great backyard
This spot, especially the backyard, was really awesome. The pictures don't do the yard justice. The deck is huge with tons of room for hanging out and includes a pool table, darts, cornhole, a comfortable swing, and a great area for grilling. We were here with a group of 9 people and originally had plans to do some hiking in the area but the yard was so nice that we ended up just hanging out in the yard for two whole days. The house itself is also nice and very comfy. We did a lot of cooking in the big kitchen and everything was clean and comfortable. I would definitely book this place again and go back!

50th Wedding Anniversary
Our Family (13 guests; 8 adults and 5 children) stayed at Lodge West in Atascadero, CA over the weekend of July 12-14 for our parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. This Lodge was AWESOME! It has a swimming pool, outdoor pool table and a separate pool house for the kids. The place was VERY clean and had PLENTY of space for all of us. The BBQ was fantastic for cook outs and enjoying the beautiful and serene countryside. If you are looking for an excellent getaway with your Family and Friends to disconnect (their WiFi is great, though) and hang out, then this is the place for you. Plus, the owners, Linda and Gary, were the best hosts by providing us with everything we needed (towels, full kitchen with plates, cups and utensils, clean house, etc.). They are very responsive and available if you need anything. Fantastic stay!!

Perfect Vacation Weekend
We rented the place so we could get together with some old college friends for the long 4th of July weekend. This is our fourth stay at Lodgewest, and it was another great experience. The extra room with the cabana really came in handy.
We were able to cook and feed 12 people comfortably thanks to the large kitchen, refrigerator and supply of cooking equipment - including the drip coffee maker Linda was nice enough to offer us.
The property is great, with large patio, a hot tub and plenty of room poolside. We also took a couple side trips to local wineries and got in a nice bike ride.

Great Family Get-Away!
The more experienced members of our family were happy to claim that Lodge West was the best equipped vrbo they have rented! Perfect Little Getaway

I organized a little trip with some of my old Cal Poly friends. I found Lodge West on VRBO, but booked directly with Linda with no problems. The house perfectly fit all of our 5 little families. We had kids ages 1 to 8 and they all enjoyed the house. There were plenty of toys and books for the kids to entertain themselves. The kids also loved the pool and piano. Pool, hot tub, pool table, and bbq were all utilized. There was even a crib, high chair, and lots of other baby gear available for use. Everything is clearly labeled and Linda was very easy to reach when we had any questions. All the rooms were quite roomy and there was lots of space from any neighbors so everything felt very private. It's not very far from the freeway and the grocery store and a short drive to SLO for our Firestone tri-tip ritual. Overall, we had a fantastic trip and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We stayed at this fantastic house over Memorial Day Weekend 2018 with three other families. All together we were 8
adults and 6 kids ranging from 8 mo to 5 years. The house was PERFECT! We call it Rancho Relaxo. There was plenty of room for all of us. The rooms are a nice size and beds comfortable, the kitchen is
well equipped, and the bathrooms were nice and clean. It’s also a very safe house for kids and Linda was so sweet in putting out heaps of toys for the kids to play with, as well as a high chair and
crib in one of the rooms. We used all of these things! The hot tub on the deck was great. We also spent lots of time by and in the pool. The pool was big and nice and clean. The property itself is
also just gorgeous quiet, private, and looking out onto oak trees. The older kids loved exploring the woodland. We also played out front where there’s a nice lawn. While there are lots of activities
to do nearby (zoo, fire house, beach, etc.), were found ourselves having enough fun to simply spend the full 3 days at the house. Honestly, we can not say more about this vacation rental - it was
just awesome. As one of the dads commented, the vacation was surprisingly relaxing and enjoyable (despite 4 families and 3 infants!) and that’s because the house and property were so great and Linda
and Gary were so kind. We WILL be back to Rancho Relaxo.

This is probably the most comfortable of the many vacation rentals I've stayed in. Casual, clean, and exceptionally well-maintained and equipped, my group of friends and I had a wonderful time. We came to the area for a long weekend of cycling, wine tasting, and dining out, but the property is so enjoyable when we weren't cycling we ended up just hanging out. We cooked up many a meal in the kitchen (other than food, it had everything we needed to prepare meals and store leftovers) and on the wood deck with its large gas grill. Our group of nine, including a couple of daytime visitors, found the place very spacious both inside and outside. The deck has plenty of seating and includes a nice hot tub and pool table, and around the corner from that is a pool with more area for lounging. Inside and out, the place is very well cared for and feels more like you're staying in someone's home rather than a rental. The owners are located nearby and were very accommodating and unobtrusively checked-in with us by text from time to time to make sure we were comfortable. Additionally, the location is quiet and secure, yet just a short drive to restaurants and other activities. If you are cyclists, the area has many great rides, Peachy Canyon being one of my favorites. We hope to return to the area again, and this place is our top choice to stay. Thank you Linda and Gary for the exceptional hospitality and beautiful property!

Beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood

The home is large enough for a big family or group of friends and well appointed with everything one needs for a weekend or a week away. We only rented the property for three days over a weekend and enjoyed the swimming pool (unheated) and looking at the stars at night. The listing was accurate regarding the location and the layout of the rooms. The property is very clean. Linda provided excellent customer service when the hot tub was found to not be working and unusable during our visit. I would recommend Sculpterra Winery, Justin Vineyards, Il Cortilo restaurant and Bistro Laurent restaurant for dinner (Paso Robles). There is a Vons in Atascadero that has everything one needs. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfast in the morning for 10 people - including some welcome items from Gary and Linda - and the living room worked well for conversation and board games. We spent a lot of time out of the home exploring wineries and dining options in Paso Robles but while we were there we found everything easy to use and labeled well. There are lots of deer to see in the area. Gary and Linda have a beautiful place and work hard to make you fell welcome and at home. Thanks for everything!

Fabulous home for a family reunion

We were a collection of ages from northern and southern CA, meeting in the middle at Atascadero. Eleven in all, including 3 between 3 and 8 years old, 4 in their 30s, and two of us "elders." The big pool, hot tub, and beautiful pool table out on the deck were all huge hits. The house is spacious and comfortable, easy on a single story, and wonderfully equipped with toys and games for all ages. Linda and Gary are consummate hosts, including wine and chocolates as a welcome! Atascadero turned out to be a brilliant location, hot during the day for swimming in August, and cool enough for a sweater at night. We made easy day trips to San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles, wine toured down to Cambria, and stopped in Morro Bay. We also visited the neighborhood zoo, with its gorgeous red panda, Malaysian tiger, and spider monkey. We didn't quite get to the pedal boats on the lake. Next time! We will definitely be back.

We had a relaxing and fun family vacation. We enjoyed the time we had there to unplug from work and reconnect with our family and friends. The house was spacious, comfortable, clean and quiet. The pool and spa provided lots of fun for the kids and we really appreciated the plush pool towels that were provided. We took a few day trips to Avila Beach (kid friendly beach), Morro Bay (kayaking and salt water taffy) and Cayucos (whale and dolphin watching off the pier) which were fun excursions but we always found ourselves wanting to get back to the property to enjoy the pool and spa “one-more-time” before sunset. We enjoyed BBQ ribs, hot dogs, and hamburgers in the back yard and snacked on s’mores in the evenings while star gazing. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, bowls, glasses, cookware and just about anything you could need. You can tell the owners go to the extra effort to make sure their guests have a quality stay. The weather was hot and sunny when we visited but we were very comfortable because of the cooling afternoon breezes and the many windows that allow you to capture the cooler night air with lots of ceiling fans to keep the air circulating. I truly look forward to visiting this property again. Thank you for giving us the vacation we needed.

What an amazing spot for a little vacation. Our family loved this house and all it had to offer. The bedrooms are all spread out so almost everyone can have their own private pocket to themselves; along with their own bathroom. Super clean, all amenities provided, Linda has thought of everything. The pool, hot tub, pool table, corn hole, etc., all gave us tons to do. The house felt very comfortable and is very big. It was so nice to drink wines that we had gotten the prior day while laying around the pool, watching deer roam in the hills behind the house, listening to music and firing up the BBQ. We will definitely be back. Thanks for providing the perfect home away from home.

We visited this property for a long weekend to celebrate my daughter's graduation from Cal Poly . We had 4 generations in attendance, from my 88 year old mother to my 5 year old granddaughter. We all had a fabulous time! The pool and Jacuzzi were a big hit, but we also enjoyed playing pool and cornhole. The house was spacious and very comfortable, and it had every amenity you could ever need. It was close enough to SLO without getting in the fray of the traffic and congestion that happens during graduation week. We have recommended this home to others, and we will definitely be back.

Positives; Labeling of where items were placed was great, nice amenities upon arrival (wine and chocolates), very quiet and private even though neighbors were not that far away, plenty of room for everyone, and owners put lots of effort into making their guests comfortable. Definitely a place that worked for us 4 couples. Negatives; Issue with the hot tub that owner tried to fix but was unable at the time, garbage disposal would have been nice, wireless worked but kept kicking us out after a short period of time so had to sign back in. Overall, you have a lovely place and we all could tell that you take great pride in making it a comfortable homey rental. Thanks for a lovely stay!

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Linda & Gary's house! The house was very clean and spacious. There is so much to do with the pool, hot tub, pool table, deer watching, croquet set, and is perfect for a family gathering. We had 6 adults and 4 children (age 5 and under) and there was plenty of space and activities to keep everyone entertained! Linda & Gary also provided a high chair, crib, baby monitor, & toys when I told them the ages of the children which was so convenient! We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely book the Lodge West again if we are in the area!

This is the second year my friends and I get together at this house in Atascadero. The house is large, clean and perfect for a relaxing weekend around the pool. Fabulous house for wedding base camp

We made this house our base camp for our daughter's wedding at nearby Santa Margarita Ranch. It is spacious and absolutely beautiful. On the morning of the ceremony, the 3 hair & makeup artists asked for the place with the best natural light, and were delighted with the large back deck - with each having their own electric outlet to set up their station for the girls in the wedding party, with gorgeous views as a bonus. The backyard also served as a relaxing spot for a post-wedding BBQ for the immediate families on the day after the wedding - with everyone enjoying the pool, the hot tub and the billiard table. The house itself is extremely comfortable, with nicely appointed bedrooms, cozy linens, and lots of seating areas both inside and out. The kitchen is very well equipped, with fully functional appliances and nicely labeled drawers and cupboards. Owner, Linda, went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and her care for the house really shows.

Our large family all shared this wonderful home that was well situated between wine country and beach towns. The layout was clearly well thought out in the building of it, so that there is a central outdoor deck with hot tub that overlooks open scenery, with the pool area to the side. We didn't rent the casita but the 4 bedrooms were large enough for the 7 of us plus 2 kids. The hosts were readily available but left us to our privacy throughout the stay. Overall we would definitely come back!

We would return to this property in a flash! An annual gathering of eight friends, six from the Bay Area and two from SoCal found this location a perfect central meeting area for our 3-day retreat. And the host property owners were as friendly, accommodating and welcoming as we have ever experienced. The moment you walk into the house, you are greeted with a comfortable country great room, beautifully adorned with inviting sofa's, lounges and a grand dining room table that became center stage for our evening meals and entertainments. Then, there is the kitchen! It was expansive and fully loaded with quality cookware and appliances. Oftentimes there would be six of us milling around in the kitchen, all at the same time with plenty of room to spare. Most of us love to cook and pretend we are 5 star chef's, thank God for good wine! All were impressed with the kitchen. We woke each morning to a family of deer, birdsong, gentle breezes, a soak in hot tub with our coffee and plenty of privacy. In the afternoons, cocktails and billiards on the outdoor backyard deck became a favorite gathering place. The Casita, framed by the pool, proved to be perfect for one of our members. Atascadero is centrally and perfectly located in the heart of Pinot Noir wine county, local farmer's markets and day trips to SLO and the small town of Templeton. This location is a treasure!

I agree with the other reviews. This property is superior. It is spacious, very clean and well equipped. Gary and Linda are friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. We were busy getting ready for a wedding and never did need the tour from the hosts since everything is so well labeled. Forget the crowded, over-priced beach properties. This is better! The pool is spotless and you'll have the place to yourselves. My family of seven adults couldn't stop thanking me for finding this fabulous place.

This home is perfect. We were 2 adults and 6 boys and we had a wonderful time. The pool and two jacuzzi's kept the boys busy from morning to night. The home was spacious and the layout allowed everyone to spread out and have personal time if necessary. I highly recommend it to everyone. Linda and Gary, the owners, were there within moments of our arrival to show us around and explain all the inner workings of their lovely home. I would return In a heartbeat if I am in the area again!

The Perfect Vacation Rental

We recently stayed at this house for a family reunion and had such a great vacation! The owners Linda and Gary were wonderful, they met us on our first day of arrival and brought over flowers for my husband's birthday. The house was beautiful and has something for everyone, there is plenty of room for a large group. The pool was really nice and the outside deck area was perfect, what a great backyard! We even got to see some deer. Town is close including a large variety of wineries and some golf courses. Morro Bay was just a short drive to enjoy the beach and buy some fresh fish. Next time we are in the area we will stay here again! I highly recommend this rental property for the perfect family vacation!

The property is as advertised and highly recommended. The hosts were very good about communication and settings things up for a smooth move-in and stay. The amenities are great, especially for a large group. We would love to come back and stay at this property. The two minor things I would highly recommend from the hosts to improve is the wireless and adding extra toilet paper and towels. The wireless is not very strong and has a limited range. I would upgrade. Apart from that, everything was excellent!

This house and property absolutely exceeded every expectation that we had! The pictures on the website do not do it justice, it is much larger than it appears, with the master bedroom (and Jacuzzi tub) isolated from the other three bedrooms in another wing of the house, so we never heard our 14 month and 20 month old grandchildren crying in the night. The TWO hot tubs and pool were a wonderful perk for the grandchildren and adults alike, and it was enchanting to see a doe and two tiny fawns come down the hill in the “back yard”, while another evening there were 5-6 deer in the front of the house, including two bucks with decent-sized antlers. The kitchen was spacious and had everything a person needs to cook a gourmet meal, as well as a nice BBQ grill on the rear deck. The pool table on the rear deck was also very popular! The entire house was very clean and organized, with all switches and drawers labeled so there was no confusion at all; it was one of the easiest houses to stay in that we have ever rented. Pool towels were provided separate from the bath towels, and a very nice croquet set provided a new experience for several family members who had never played the game before. Lots of parking space with two spaces covered by a carport, and room for multiple other cars in the drive. The house is set well back from the road, with a wooded hillside in the back, and so was extremely quiet. We also rented the casita back by the pool, a small house with its own bathroom, kitchen, and queen bed and sitting area, which was perfect for one of our couples. The owners Linda and Gary dropped by the first afternoon (after checking with us) to give us a tour of the house and property with all its amenities, and show us how to work various equipment and appliances, and were extremely helpful and personable. We only had one question, “Why did you ever give up living in this house?” It made for a truly special time for three of our children’s families to get together for 4 days while our fourth child was getting married nearby in S.L.O. When we left, my wife and I both wished we could have stayed a month. We give it our strongest recommendation for anybody needing to accommodate a large number of people. We had 8 adults, two teenagers, and two babies, but there was so much space indoors and out that it never felt “close” in the slightest, and in fact one could entertain quite a few more people than what we had and still be extremely comfortable. We're ready to move in!

Gary and Linda were gracious, accommodating and welcoming. Our time on their beautiful property was just amazing. We have no complaints! Note that the area has spotty cell phone coverage. This was true with Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint.

Thank you so much Linda and Gary for the wonderful stay at Lodge West! Your home was even more beautiful than the pictures showed. The home was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The spacious house was perfect for my family of teenagers as well as my mom and dad and my brother's family of little ones. The pool and 2 hot tubs were amazing! We loved grilling on the back deck, which was so private as it backed up to undeveloped land with rolling hills and lots of trees. The house was an easy drive to town with grocery stores, as well as a short drive to nearby wineries and beaches. My entire family agreed that it was the best vacation rental that we ever stayed at. Linda and Gary were wonderful hosts and thought of all the little details to make us feel at home. Thank you!

Great Home away from Home feel

We so enjoyed our stay but more than that. Even before we arrived, Linda was working behind the scenes getting some baby items we needed such as a crib and high chair. Then when we arrived, we also noticed they had provided a number of children's toys and books for our grandson to enjoy. The house, pool, and jacuzzis (yes two), and grounds are so enjoyable including the daily visits from deer and wild turkeys. Gary and Linda met us soon after arriving and were more than gracious and accommodating. The home itself has a large living area and open kitchen which made it wonderful to entertain our extended family. There is a large bedroom with private bath on one side of the house (allowing for some private time for my wife and I) along with three bedrooms and two baths on the other side with easy access to the outdoors. The views from front or back of the house are beautiful with a large green belt in back and private views from all sides. Bottom line, this home was more than we expected and our kids just kept telling us how wonderful the stay was for them. I highly recommend this vacation rental for any visit to the Central Coast area. It is very convenient to town with easy access to Hwy 101 and all that the local wine country provides.

Great get-away with our whole family

This was a great property and as described. There were many things to do, all was clean and well-maintained. The kids enjoyed the stay, as much as the adults. Even though we see deer in our area, we enjoyed watching the herd of about 20 deer that came to visit each evening. It was maybe a little over a half hour to the beach, but was an easy drive, with little traffic and no need to deal with all the people after leaving town. Plenty of room for cooking, as well as two tables to use for eating and games and a kitchen counter. The owners were very accommodating, leaving a turkey roaster for us to bake our turkey in. This was our first time to rent a house this way for the whole family and it was a good experience.

If you're looking for a great get-away that still has all the comforts of home, look no further. The owners met us when we arrived and were very friendly, accommodating and informative.We were traveling with a large group including a baby and didn't have room in our vehicle for the crib. The owners went out of their way to provide a lovely crib and mobile for our convenience. How nice! The home has a very private feel without feeling isolated. We felt there was plenty of room to relax, even with a large group. We had read the pictures don't do it justice and that was right! It was better than described, spotless and up-to-date. The town it's located in is small but there are sufficient businesses to satisfy any needs one may have. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone and we personally are planning to stay again in the future!

This is truly a great place for large group! It is a short distance to town. Pomar winery is about 25 minute drive which have good wine & great views. Linda & Gary are a really nice couple. They greeted us on arrival. Then came back when we have settled & gave a grand tour. The home is immaculate, spas / pool clean & grounds well maintained. The patio is perfect place to hang out with plenty of shade. The photos don't do the home justice. I wound reserve this home in a heart beat. Thank you Linda & Gary!

We recently rented Lodge West house for a long weekend - two families. The house is large and the property very well maintained. Comfy inside and out - perfect for a getaway. The owners were there to greet us and show us around. Very friendly and quick to get back to us when we had questions. The area is beautiful - convenient to Paso, Templeton and wineries in the area. We had a great time just hanging around the house - sitting by the pool (sunny!) and eating outside on the deck.

Lovely & Fun Getaway House

I stayed at Linda & Gary's home away from home for the 2014 summer solstice to celebrate a wedding in Santa Margarita and it was truly spectacular. Linda & Gary gave us a quick tour when we first arrived to show us how to use the amenities, and quite a lot of amenities there are - 2 hot tubs, 1 pool, a casita with bathroom, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, AND a pool table for kicks - it was really quite impressive. The pictures don't give the size of the house justice, because it is BIG and perfectly spacious for a group of people that wish to get away to a warm pool vacation. Only issue we had was with getting a cab to drive us back home, so i recommend rides be pre-arranged days in advance. Would love to stay here again and would highly recommend this fabulous home owned by a lovely couple :).
